Shares bought using the MTF are automatically pledged to the broker. This is because the purchase is funded partially by borrowed capital under the MTF arrangement. As a result, these shares are already held as collateral by the broker.
To unpledge your MTF shares, you have two options:
- Sell the Shares: If you wish to unpledge the shares, you can sell them directly on your trading platform.
- Submit a Liquidation Request: You can submit a liquidation request through your online back office. This should be done after ensuring that the outstanding loan is fully cleared. Liquidation requests received before 4 PM on any working day are eligible for same-day processing.
