Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security measure that adds an extra layer of protection to your account. By requiring two forms of identification, it makes it significantly harder for unauthorised individuals to access your account, even if they know your password. This helps safeguard your sensitive information and prevent potential cyberattacks.
To enable 2FA on your account, follow these steps:
1. Login to your Share India account and click your user ID on the top right corner of your dashboard.
2. Click on ‘Account Security’ as shown below.
3. Click on ‘Enable external TOTP’. You will be asked to fill in the OTP received on your registered email or mobile number as a confirmation.
- At this time, you must also have an external authenticator app of your choice installed and open on your phone.
4. Once you open your authenticator app, scan the QR code shown on your screen. Then, your app will generate a 6-digit TOTP, which needs to be filled in the designated area along with your current password. Then click on ‘Enable TOTP’ to activate 2FA.
Now new logins will require you to fill in your password along with the TOTP generated on your authenticator app, giving you an added layer of security.
